Announcing THE INVENTION OF SOPHIE CARTER by Samantha Hastings!
I wrote another book and I can’t wait to share it with all of you! The Invention of Sophie Carter is about twin sisters who look exactly the same, but their personalities couldn’t be more different.
Sophie loves technology and is a talented clock worker. She wants to go to London to see the Great Exhibition of 1851 and find a master inventor to become an apprentice to. Mariah longs to be a professional painter and learn techniques from the premier Pre-Raphaelite artists of the day.
When only one sister is invited to stay in London, both sisters decide to go and take turns being “Sophie.” The sister’s plan goes like clockwork until the they meet their perfect suitors… both young men think they’re in love with the same Sophie Carter.
While writing this story, I tried to strike a balance between historical details and modern prose. With the cover, I think Katie Klimowicz does an incredible job of combining the past and the present. She has created a cover with Pre-Raphaelite charm and a modern vibe. She highlights the two sisters, while subtly hinting at Sophie’s obsession with clockwork with the hour hands and the gorgeous scrollwork.
Without further ado, allow me to share the gorgeous cover…
