Cover voting is now closed. Thanks for all your help!
Happy Monday, Swooners!
We know just what you need to start the week off right: COVER VOTING! We can't wait for you to peruse the three amazing cover options for the recently renamed Wesley James Ruined My Life. A girl falls in love with the boy who ruined her life during a summer job at Tudor Tymes restaurant in Jennifer Honeybourn's funny and heartfelt contemporary. In case you need a refresher, here's the synopsis:
"Sixteen-year-old Quinn Hardwick’s having a rough summer. Her beloved grandmother has been put into a nursing home, her dad’s gambling addiction has flared back up and now her worst enemy is back in town: Wesley James, former childhood friend and life ruiner.
So when Wesley is hired to work with her at Tudor Tymes, a medieval England themed restaurant, the last thing Quinn’s going to do is forgive and forget. She’s determined to remove him from her life and even the score once and for all—by getting him fired.
But getting rid of Wesley isn’t as easy as she’d hoped. When Quinn finds herself falling for him, she has to decide what she wants more: to get even, or to get the boy."
Swoon designers KB and Danielle M. (designing for Swoon for the first time!) have put together three awesome cover directions for you to choose from, and have shared some thoughts about their inspiration behind each one. Remember, the below images aren't necessarily final. These are just directions, so there will probably be some tweaks made before the book hits the shelves. Danielle M.'s Food Truck Cover
I imagined them in the truck together having a quibble. But how could it be serious when they're in this adorable blue food truck?!
KB's Tudor Tymes Cover
As I was researching for this title, I came across an ad for a food truck festival that had this really inspiring, cheerful yellow-and-aqua color palette. I thought it represented the heart and humor of this story as well. And of course we have the Tudor Tymes castle and food truck front and center!
Danielle M.'s Notebook Cover
I tried to imagine what Quinn's notebook looked like as a diary of doodles! Little drawings of London, pirate ship because her nemesis Wesley plays a pirate... and you get it!
