YA Dream Cast: THRONE OF GLASS by Sarah J. Maas

Have you ever watched a film or TV adaptation of one of your favorite books and immediately knew you could have done a better job with the cast? Well, that’s what dream casts are for! I’ve always had a thing for dream casts and have found myself brainstorming which actors I thought were perfectly suited to bring some of my favorite fictional characters to life a number of times. And it’s really satisfying when the actor you had your heart set on to play a particular role actually gets chosen by a real life casting director!

It’s been a while since I’ve created a dream cast of one of my favorite YA series, so I thought it would be fitting to create one and share it with our YA obsessed community of Swooners! I chose Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas because 1.) I’m obsessed with this series, 2.) Empire of Storms comes out NEXT MONTH and 3.) It has already been optioned for TV but the cast has not yet been announced!

Let me know what you think of my choices below and share your dream cast with us in the comments!

Celaena Sardothien –I think that Teresa Palmer, Cara Delevingne or Lily James all have the edginess needed to play Celaena, a character who is both kickass and troubled by her past.

Dorian Havilliard – Dorian’s dark hair, bright blue eyes and charming personality could be brought to life by all of these actors. Strictly looks wise I’d say that Nico Tortorella, Chase Crawford or Robbie Amell would be the most fitting, but I have a soft spot for Sam Clafin as well.

Chaol Westfall – I originally envisioned a young Sam Worthington as Chaol, but I think that both Stephen Amell and Theo James have the same ruggedness and warmth that I associate with him.

Nehemia Ytger – I think that both Kat Graham and Candice Patton have the appearance that I imagined for Nehemia, but my top choice would be Kat because of the depth and strength she’s brought to her other roles.
