Beguiling Trickery Chani Lynn Feener

Description

Kenna Erikson knows absolutely nothing about Norse mythology. Which is daunting, considering she's a volur, a type of seer the Vikings believed garnered favor with the gods. For the most part, she ignores her gifts, and the useless ability to foresee thirty or so seconds into the future. For as long as she can remember, she's had only herself to rely on, and she likes that just fine. However, when shadows suddenly come alive and attack her, she's forced to seek outside help in the form of tall, blonde, and infinitely annoying, Luka. Somehow, Luka knows all about her attackers, and the mythology they spring from. He's also eager to help out, despite the fact they've only just met. But what secret is he keeping? Who is he really? And why does her heart flip every time he's around?

I love the story so far. I feel like I can really relate to Kenna and her personality. The only thing I would suggest is that you say where the story is taking place (I may have missed it in the beginning).
Overall, it is a great story and buildup.

So far this is a very compelling read. Kenna is easy to connect with and her unique gift is well written and described to the point where I'm just as surprised and embarrassed as she is.

Kenna's relationships are genuine. I feel the chemistry! Can't wait to read more!!!!

I liked the story. It was an interesting twist to add a bit of Greek mythology to the Norse mythology plot. Obviously, there will be another book. I am looking forward to seeing how everything and everyone develops. I really only have two complaints. 1. The characters needed more development. It was harder to relate, as they weren't complex enough to give me all the feels. 2. I would have liked to see the romance develop sooner. It seemed like the romance was dragging until about the last fourth of the book. Then it was hot, and I started to see the two connect.
Overall, a great book with lots of possibilities. With some development and edits, it could be stellar. Four glittery stars!
(I have previously read her Underworld series featuring Hades and Persephone, and it was a phenomenal read. The characters were brilliant and the romance was fab. This author has a lot of promise.)

This book reminds me a lot of the popular new adult Norse romance books written by S.T. Bende. (The Elsker saga) and (The Aere saga).

I like the mystery surrounding Kenna's episodes. Also, the introduction of Luka! So much promise in the plot. I'm curious about Fiske and Parker as well. There seems to be more to them than shown. I can't wait to see what happens next!

I liked the characters, I was instantly caught up in the magnetism the author was able to exude from Luka, he definitely had the right kind of pull. Kenna was a super strong character, albeit, frustrating at times. I have to say all of the back and forth with the reincarnations threw me off a bit. It was confusing (Probably just as much to the reader as to Kenna), although she did not ask the questions or demand the answers that I would have.
