Hello Goodbye Rachel Schieffelbein

Description

Mya has a plan. Give the baby up for adoption, finish high school and college, marry Michael, and then have kids. But a pregnancy complication lands Mya at a hospital half a country away from home and changes everything.

She moves in with her aunt and uncle and their kids, including Jane, Mya’s self-absorbed sixteen-year-old cousin. Living in tight quarters, with tense small talk and unspoken judgments, Mya and Jane struggle to find common ground.

Feeling all alone, Mya longs for home and for Michael. But as her baby grows, so does her love for it, and what she’d thought was a clear choice becomes fuzzy. Keeping the baby could mean losing Michael, and Mya isn’t sure she can handle her own life without him much less the life of another.

How can she choose between the boy she loves and the baby their love created?

The writer wrote from a teen's point of view which is amazing. The pregnancy process and feelings was well researched and written. The characters were clearly identifiable. I liked that the writer could bring out different emotions in me. Just a few typos but well written.

I loved how realistic it was and really brought up the question that no one really pays much attention to when thinking of teen pregnancy; The difficult of deciding whether you would really give your baby away or would you get attached and decide to keep the baby.

This was such a great read! Mya and Jane were both so relatable. Although I've never been in Mya's position I felt I could really feel what she was going through. I was uncertain what she would decide for her future until the end. I also greatly enjoyed Jane's story/journey. I love both girls and going through this time with them, so close in age and yet such different personalities, thoughts and ideas, makes the story all that more relatable. A great read I would recommend for everyone.

Similar Stories : I can't think of a specific book but any fan of 10 things I hate about you and Juno would be in love!
