I Lost to a Girl

Description

Shelby is the only girl on her NJ high school wrestling team. She’s hanging on for a varsity letter. No one in the entire school wants her on the team, not even her father, who’s the principal. Luckily, Shelby is “only” filling an “empty weight class” and not upsetting the boy’s or their parents. At least she is until Mike walks onto the mat.

He’s facing expulsion at his Florida high school and wants a fresh start in Jersey. Raised by his mother in Daytona Beach, he’s running from himself and his mother’s boyfriend. The one thing he can’t do is get into a street fight. When he convinces Shelby to take her weight-class back from the team’s captain, and her “unofficial” boyfriend, they learn about the high cost of winning, equality and fairness.
