Princess Delia knows her duty: She must choose a prince to marry in order to secure an alliance and save her failing planet. Yet she secretly dreams of true love, and feels there must be a better way. Determined to chart her own course, she steals a spaceship to avoid the marriage, only to discover a handsome stowaway.
All Aidan wanted was to “borrow” a few palace trinkets to help him get off the planet. Okay, so maybe escaping on a royal ship wasn’t the smartest plan, but he never expected to be kidnapped by a runaway princess!
Sparks fly as this headstrong princess and clever thief battle wits, but everything changes when they inadvertently uncover a rebel conspiracy that could destroy their planet forever in this gender-swapped sci-fi YA retelling of Cinderella.
“But when do we get to meet all the princes?” Shania asked. “I’ve heard eight are already here. The palace is turning into a wonderfully well-stocked man depot.”
“You speak as if they’re something to eat,” Advisor Winchell reprimanded.
“If you’re so thrilled with the prospect of marrying a complete stranger,” Tianna said from the pedestal, as her android Marta quietly worked on the side seam of her wedding gown. “Why don’t you get up here and take my… Ouch!” Tianna jumped to the side as if shocked. A pin was sticking out of her side.
Marta continued to poke the needle in and out of the fabric, more roughly. There was a tear in the dress, a red spot appeared. Shania screamed.
Advisor Winchell pressed a button on the top of her ivory cane. “Droid emergency! Princess Tianna’s chamber!”
Tianna pulled away, tripping off the pedestal. “Sewing is my passion… my passion.” Marta’s voice became static as she clawed for the hem of the gown. Tianna stared, amazed—then she remembered to scream.
Stumbling out of the gown, Tianna made her way across the room, then grabbed the satchel she’d hidden behind a chair. While everyone was watching Marta she quietly slipped out the side door and into the servants’ corridor.
