The Potentially Deadly Effect of Teagan O'Henry S. J. Rodgers

Description

It's Minority Report meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer...

Teagan O'Henry is a banshee—an inherited ability she's not exactly proud of. Armed with knowledge of the future and a deadly kiss, she stops would-be killers before they strike.

But when Teagan refuses to curse her next victim she puts Clint—the boy currently starring in all of her fantasies—in danger.

As her mortal self, Teagan tries to undo what cannot be undone. She's warned that there are no second chances, but don't underestimate the power and determination of a teenage girl who is desperate for her first (non-lethal) kiss.

Interesting. I like the premise. I want to read more. The transition seemed a little abrupt even after you put all the elements in place so we would expect it. If you could smooth that out on rewrites that would be great!

I only had time enough to read through one chapter this sitting, but what struck me right away was your narrator's voice--it's great! Snarky, but not obnoxious, with just the right dose of attitude. Loved the way you ended this first chapter, too. I'll definitely be coming back to read some more. I tried to leave some points for laughs, but my browser doesn't want to play nice.

I really enjoyed this story! I liked Teagan's character. She used problem solving skills and creativity to stand up for what she believed in despite hitting barrier after barrier and nobody being willing to help her. She was loyal to the people she loved. I also appreciated her sarcastic dialogue and honesty with other characters. My only complaint was Sam's hot and cold behavior towards Teagan. One minute he was done with her and never going to talk to her again and then he would act like her knight in shining armour. He was also pretty judgemental towards her. I hope this is the first in a series with these characters because I'd love to read more about them.

I truly loved Teagan, she had an amazingly funny attitude and caracter. LOVE IT! Yet I feel as if the book ends inconclusively. Is there a sequel or an epilogue at least? It truly seems like the start os something wonderful?

This was definitely interesting. I like the whole idea of a banshee fighting for justice with the kiss of death. I've never read a story quite like this.

I cannot tell if Teagan is truly kind-hearted or just incredibly foolish. I feel like the more she tried to avoid kissing the murderer, the more damage she ended up doing. I was just like AGH. JUST DO IT ALREADY. But then, I start wondering perhaps her questioning the rules means she will be able to change things for the better with a higher sense of justice. It's confusing and I feel like it's like the whole butterfly effect based on what she does. I'm definitely curious to see if all of her choices and actions will come to fruition.

This was certainly thrilling and the story was unique.

Thank you for this story! :)
