Within a Dream Chani Lynn Feener

Description

Lily likes being a witch. Sure, aside from floating pencils and telepathically communicating with her three best friends, there aren't many real perks. Until it brings two of the hottest guys she's ever seen into her life. Of course, there are always strings, and this one comes in the form of a prophecy foretelling her saving, and eventually ruling, a realm she's never heard about in this lifetime. With dark fey suddenly hunting them down, Lily and her friends are forced to make a decision, complete the prophecy or turn there backs. If that isn't enough stress, Lily also has a choice to make of her own. Trust in their brooding dark haired guide, Larkin? Or the golden dream stalker Ronan? One claims he's her soul mate. Both want her back in a realm she can't recall. What's a girl to do?

The compelling heroin in the story drew me in with her duel lives. Add in an exciting love triangle and paranormal beings and I'm a super happy reader! I can't wait to see the story unfold.

I really loved the story. It's clear that you've put a ton of thought into the worlds. The addition of the rules part way through the book was interesting, and I think it was a good call. It was very frustrating early on in the book when it was clear that neither Larkin or Ronan was giving much information, and there didn't seem to be a clear reason for it. When the rules were introduced that made much more sense.
I would like to see more with her friends. Lily is constantly repeating that she loves her friends, and we're repeatedly told what their personality traits are, but we rarely see them in action. Even though Breck and Bran were introduced so much later in the story, I connected with them moreso than the characters that had been there the whole time because they had some dialogue that expressed what they were like. When I reached the end of the book and found out that 2 of them had been kidnapped, it didn't really seem to matter much since they were the two most undeveloped characters.
Overall, I think it's a very strong story and an interesting world. I would just like to feel more of the connection between the characters, instead of just being told that it's there.

Thanks for reading, and for your feedback! With so many characters it was hard for me to portray all of their personalities in a show and not tell way. That's definitely something I'm working on flushing out in the second book!
